MARRC’s Biggest Research Grant to Date-Jan 2007

MARRC has secured over £200,000 of research funding from the Department of Trade and Industry in the Spring 2006 Technology Programme which funds innovative research and development.

The project, titled "Large Volume Airflow Visualisation"is a collaboration between MARRC, MIRA (the Motor Industry Research Association) and Vicon Motion Systems.

The study aims to develop a novel way of tracking airflow in wind tunnels using motion capture technology. Work will take place in both the MARRC laboratory at the University of Worcester and the full scale wind tunnel at MIRA in Nuneaton.

The project will assist in improving motor vehicle efficiency and the built environment. Funding for the research began on the 4th January and will last 18 months.
